So some guy actually asked why the guild is called "Fist of Uther). Now i sure as hell dont know, so instead ill tell you about a guy called Uther.
Now you've gone and make me reseach shit about a fictional game with a fictional story, man you people made me a geek! I really should sue someone. Anyways here goes.
-The First War
It all actually starts before Warcraft 3, see the First War in Warcraft Lore, some arch bishop made a new order of knights to combat evil. Knights that would also belive in something called the Light. This order of goody-two-shoes wannabe heroes was called Knights of the Silver Hand, and was in fact the very first Paladins the World of Warcraft (see the pun?) has ever seen.
Ofcourse every organisation has a leader and Knights of the Silver Hand wasn't different. Their leader was Uther the very first bubble boy ever.
-The Second War
In the Second War against Orgrim Doomhammer who lead a siege against Lordaeron, Uther proved essential gaining victory over the horde. But it wasn't before the battle of Blackrock Spire that Uther gained the name "Lightbringer".
He also led the final assault against the Burning Blade Clan at the Dark Portal.
After these major events he roamed the land, doing whatever a paladin does. And most noteable, began training the king's son, Arthas, in the way of the Light (wannabe jedi?). They became close friends, Family almost.
- The Third War
Alot more shit happened here but most noteably. Uther rushed with his loyal Knights of the Silver Hand to Arthas's defense when he was defending the town of Hearthglen from the Scourge. However since Arthas almost lost that battle he became traumatised and rushed of to Stratholme with Uther and Jaina Following him. Uther refused to help Arthas purge Stratholme and as such Arthas disbanded Uthers Order of the Silver Hand and sent him away.
While Arthas was in Northrend, Uther persuaded the king to call back Arthas and his men. Arthas did finally return but weeks had gone by, and he was somehow... different.
- Uther's Death
After Arthas had killed his father, the king go cremated and put into a magical urn. Uther voluntered to personally guard the urn, but was killed after an epic battle with Arthas. Alliance forces recovered Uthers body and led him to rest in Eastern Plague Lands where his tombs still lies to this day.
So in short- Uther was a hero of the Alliance.
